Immigrant Families in Florida Need Us Now
Florida law enforcement is working with ICE to detain and deport immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Families are afraid to go to school, seek medical care, or even attend religious services—for fear of being separated from loved ones.
The Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Children, now known as the Biscayne Influx Care Facility, is reopening as a surge facility for migrant children. It will house teenagers, ages 13-17, who are seeking refuge in the U.S. The facility was previously closed in August 2019 following public outcry over its conditions.
Florida's new anti-immigration laws and policies are some of the most extreme yet, threatening to degrade the due process that have protected Jews and other minorities for generations.
